Florence “Flo” Hodge, age 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2026, with her family by her side.
Flo was born on May 5, 1934, to Viola and Charles Day, and was raised by her beloved grandfather, Dalton Montrose Green. She graduated from Lincoln Community High School in Illinois. She worked at Donaldson as a production control clerk for nearly three decades and truly loved her job there.
Flo was a proud and devoted member of the Frankfort, Indiana Moose Lodge #7, the oldest Moose Lodge in the world. She held various leadership roles culminating in her serving as the Senior Regent. She generously dedicated countless hours to the lodge and took great pride in her involvement.
In her free time, Flo found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved birds, especially cardinals, she enjoyed gardening, and spending time outdoors, often working in her yard. She was always cooking for those she loved and enjoyed sewing in her younger years. Flo treasured her trips to Myrtle Beach, where she constantly grew her seashell collection. Flo also deeply loved her animals, especially her beloved dog, Cubby.
Flo had a rare and beautiful gift of making everyone she met feel special. Her children each felt like the favorite, and her warmth extended to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was the definition of a loving person.
She is survived by her children, John (Anita) Hodge, Jennifer (Mike) Alexander, and Renee (Chris) Pickett; her son-in-law, Mark Woodward; daughter-in-law, Susie Hodge; grandchildren, Heidi (Jerry Bolinger) Haupt, Brandi Henderson, David Jacobs, Jessica Long, Travis Aguirre, Brandy Aguirre, Amanda (Adam) Herbert, Chris Haynes, Andrea Hufford, Allison Alexander, Jackson Alexander, and Hayden Pickett; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley DeVary; brother, Donald Day; and her children, Michael Edward Hodge, Michele Ellen Taylor, and Linda Susan Woodward.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort.
