Florence “Irene” Kreisher, 93, a former Frankfort and Indianapolis resident, passed away May 3, 2025 in Brooksville, FL.  She was born August 19, 1931 in Frankfort, IN to Harold Potter & Margaret Pearl (Allen) Heavilon.  She married Charles H. Kreisher on August 27, 1951 in Jefferson, IN and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2021.

Irene was a 1949 graduate of Little Jefferson and a graduate of IUPUI with honors.  She worked for Purdue University for several years and was secretary for Purdue Football coach, Jack Mollenkopf.  She was of the Methodist Faith, and a member of Eastern Star, Sigma Kappa Sorority, DAR, and Roland Park Women’s Club. Irene was an amazing cook, a fabulous crafter, seamstress, was all about fashion and the luckiest contest winner.

Irene is survived by her children, Gary Kreisher of Spring Hill, FL, Debbie (Bob) Francis of Aripeka, FL, Michael Kreisher of Noblesville, Wendy (Walt) Drechler of St. James, NY, daughter-in-law, Barbie Kreisher of Fishers, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Howard Allen and Harold “Eugene” Heavilon, sister, Marion Heavilon, step-sister, Joan Heavilon.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2025 at Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort, IN.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Purdue Ag Department, 615 Mitch Daniels Blvd, W.
