Food Finders Receives Grant from Conagra Brands Foundation

Food Finders Food Bank on Friday announced a $33,064 grant from Conagra Brands Foundation to help provide food to children and families in need. This significant grant will enable Food Finders to provide 99,000 more meals to people facing hunger.

“Hunger affects people from all walks of life in every county of the United States, including North Central Indiana,” said Katy Bunder, President/CEO of Food Finders Food Bank. “With the Conagra Brands Foundation’s commitment, we will be able to better serve children and families who may not know where they will find their next meal.”

Food Finders Food Bank plans to use the grant to purchase protein and fresh produce for their onsite food pantry, The J.P. Lisack Community Food Pantry. These items are the most requested by the more than 300 people who visit the pantry each day.

One in seven people in North Central Indiana faces hunger. Conagra Brands Foundation has partnered with Feeding America®, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization, to help address this issue in local Conagra communities.

“Families face hunger in every community across the country; your neighbor, child’s classmate or even coworker may be struggling to get enough to eat. Conagra Brands Foundation is proud to partner with the Feeding America nationwide network of food banks to address and reduce the significant issue of food insecurity across the country,” says Dave Heninger, local plant manager, Conagra Brands.

Food Finders Food Bank is one of 31 Feeding America food banks that have received a capacity building grant, funded by the Conagra Brands Foundation.
