Frankfort Police arrested 30-year-old Albert T. Thorne of Frankfort after an early morning foot pursuit for Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 6 Felony), Battery on Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony), Resisting Law Enforcement (A Misdemeanor), Possession of Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony), Possession of Marijuana (A Misdemeanor) and Possession of a Syringe (Level 6 Felony).
According to Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon, Officer Lance Pickrell was patrolling the area of Main and Washington Street just before 1 a.m. when he noticed Thorne, who had an active arrest warrant. Pickrell ordered Thorne to stop but Thorne fled the scene on foot. Pickrell gave chase and apprehended Thorne in the 50 block of north Main Street. At the time of his arrest, Thorne was in possession of 42 grams of Methamphetamine, scales, currency, and clear plastic baggies.
“During his apprehension, Thorne actively resisted and fought Officer Pickrell. Officer Pickrell was able to gain control of the situation as other officers arrived to help. As a result of the struggle Pickrell received a laceration above his right eye that required medical treatment. These situations are extremely dangerous for officers. I am grateful Officer Pickrell was not injured worse and that we were able to apprehend Thorne. We remain committed to pursuing justice and holding accountable anyone who brings pollutants into our community,” Bacon said.
Thorne was transported to the Clinton County Jail where he will face formal charges.
