Former Colfax Deputy Town Marshal Keith Smith was sentenced in a Clinton County courtroom to 50 years in prison for murder Tuesday. In September, Smith was found guilty of shooting and killing his wife, Lisa Smith, in March of 2016.
Smith, who was sentenced to the Indiana Department of Corrections, indicated he would appeal the sentence. He has 30 days to do so.
The earliest Smith could be released would be in 37 1/2 years.
