The Indiana Department of Education announced Monday the recipients of federal stimulus funding from the American Rescue Plan Act, including all four schools in Clinton County.
The Community Schools of Frankfort received the most funding with $5,165,559.96, followed by the Clinton Central School Corporation at $806,683.92, Clinton Prairie School Corporation $723,111.72 and the Rossville Consolidated School District $628,042.93.
Other districts in the area which received funding include the Lafayette School Corporation ($17,406,619.07), Tippecanoe School Corporation ($11,296,162.06), Lebanon Community School Corporation ($2,707,539.37), West Lafayette Community School Corporation ($1,434,839.43), Delphi Community School Corporation ($1,376,876.44), Tipton Community School Corporation ($1,274,398.68), Western Boone County Community School District ($1,192,896.43), Sheridan Community Schools ($738,741.34), Carroll Consolidated School Corporation ($668,143.77) and Zionsville Community Schools ($522,538.84).
The Indiana Department of Education said schools can use the funding to reimburse approved expenses incurred through September 2024 as a result of the COVID pandemic. Schools must also follow federal requirements to use at least 20 percent of the funding to support accelerated learning opportunities for students, such as summer learning or enrichment, comprehensive afterschool programs, or extended school years programs, as schools work to make up for lost instructional time.
Overall, more than 300 public school districts from around the state will share in the nearly $1.8 billion allocated for Indiana.
