The first baby of the year was born at 5:11 a.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018, at IU Health in Lafayette. Perrin Michael Barsteika was born to Erin and Michael Bartsteika of Fowler. He weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 21.8 inches long. He is the couple’s first child.
