FPD Receives State Law Enforcement Accreditation

The Frankfort Police Department announced its receipt of a State Law Enforcement Accreditation Recognition from the Indiana Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission following a 20-month process.

State accreditation showcases that the department’s policies and procedures meet nationally recognized best practices that were verified by the commission and an outside auditor to ensure the validity. Fewer than 5% of law enforcement agencies in Indiana are accredited according to the department.

“The goal of these best practice policies are to increase agencies’ effectiveness and efficiency in the delivery of law enforcement services, increase cooperation and coordination with other law enforcement agencies and the criminal justice system and increase citizen and employee confidence in the goals, objectives, policies and practices of an accredited agency,” the department released.
