Frank D. Vail, a life-long Frankfort resident, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in IU Health Arnett Hospital, in Lafayette.
Frank just celebrated his 88th birthday. He was born July 17, 1934, in Clinton County, to Delbert and Nettie (Snellbarger) Vail. On May 30, 1953, Frank married the love of his life, Lillian Beard, and she preceded him in death in 2010.
After attending Colfax High School, Frank worked for Nickle Plate and Monon Railroads, and retired in 1989 from CSX Railroad.
Frank was a member of Woodside Christian Church. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending time with his family.
Surviving Frank are his children, Ricki E. Beard, Vicki (husband Robin) Swearingen, Terina Y. (husband Jerry) Dean, and Sheryl (husband Brian) Bennett; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Marjorie Timmons.
