Frankfort Baseball, Rossville Baseball and Softball Moving on in State Competition

The Frankfort High School baseball team will play Mishawaka Marian in the second game of regional competition at an undisclosed site on Saturday.

Frankfort won the Class 3A Northwestern Sectional Monday with a 2-1 victory in eight innings over Western. Frankfort broke a 1-1 tie in the eighth inning to take the lead. Pitcher Jose Lopez fanned the side in the bottom half for the win.

Frankfort advanced to the sectional final with a 3-1 victory over Northwestern.

Mishawaka Marian won their own sectional with a 9-5 victory over South Bend St. Joseph.

Dates and times will be announced Wednesday.

In other sectional baseball action, Rossville won the Class A Tri-County Sectional with a 6-3 victory over Clinton Central in the championship game.

Rossville now plays Lafayette Central Catholic in a regional final. It is the second game of two games Saturday that are being played at an undisclosed site. Dates and times will be announced Wednesday.

In Class 2A sectional baseball action, Delphi blanked Carroll 2-0 in the title game. Delphi next plays Bremen in the regional final on Saturday. It is the second game of two being played with both winners advancing to semi-state action on Saturday, June 10.

In Class A softball, Rossville advanced to the regional final with an 8-2 victory over Tri-County in the title tilt. Rossville advanced to the finals with over Frontier 11-0 and Clinton Central 5-4.

Rossville will play Riverton Parke, a 10-5 winner over Lafayette Central Catholic. Riverton Parke scored 37 runs in its three sectional games.
