Frankfort Community Public Library Introduces Bilingual Story Time

The Frankfort Community Public Library has announced its upcoming new Bilingual Story Time beginning Jan. 25 as a program that includes stories, rhymes, songs and word lessons in both Spanish and English as well as related crafts and a light snack.

The adventure will begin Saturday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. at the library, featuring award-winning books, such as “Con Pollo: A Bilingual Playtime Adventure” by Jimmy Fallon and Jennifer Lopoez, “Que Aburrido!” by Michael Ian Black and “Nosotros Means Us” by Paloma Valdivia.

Bilingual Story Time is a project of Alexandra Zavala, a student intern through the Wildcat Creek Career Cooperative. Zavala said that the purpose of Bilingual Story Time is “to develop a program that welcomes bilingual families, shares the beauty and joy of the Spanish language, and teaches children new words. The library strives to be an inclusive environment for all.”

The event is free and open to children from age of 3 through grade 6 and their families. Registration is not required. For more information, contact Rachel Milburn at rmilburn@myfcpl.org or call 765-654-8746, extension 1117.
