Frankfort Defeats Southmont in Sagamore Conference Opener

The Frankfort High School girls’ volleyball team picked up its first victory of the season Thursday night with a 3-1 road victory over Southmont.

Leading the way for FHS, 1-1, was Morgan Adamson with 20 assists, five kills and two aces. The offense was led by Maicee Sterrett with 12 kills. She also had 12 digs and three aces. The serving of Mercedes Toney sent the team on several runs with four aces. Tarah Martinez was solid in back row tih seven digs and a ace.

Frankfort opened its season on Tuesday night with a 3-0 loss to the home-standing Hornets.

Sterrett led in kills with seven, while Adamson added six kills and 10 assists. Toney had 16 digs and Sterrett added 11 digs.

FHS Wins Conference Opener

Yobani Trenando had a hat trick to lead Frankfort shut out Western Boone 5-0 in a Sagamore Conference opener Thursday in Frankfort.

Trenando scored twice in the first half for the Hot Dogs, 1-1, and added his third early in the second half.

Jose Balderas had a pair of goals, while Damian Lopez had a pair of assists. Alex Campos recorded a shut out in goal.

Excellent defensive play came from Marcos Garcia, Felipe Tovar, Edwin Mejia and Daniel Garcia.

In the season opener Tuesday, the Hot Dogs fell 6-0 to Logansport.

Frankfort Girls Lose First Two Matches

Sheridan scored four first half goals en route to a 5-2 victory over Frankfort Thursday.

Goals for Frankfort came from Meli Alanis in the first half. In the second half, FHS scored a goal with an assist from Sheridan following a shot by Mia Hernandez.

In the season opener Tuesday, Frankfort was blanked by Logansport by a score of 8-0.
