Frankfort Downs Delphi in Girls’ Volleyball Action

Riley Isgrigg had 31 assists and four aces to help lead Frankfort to a 3-0 girls’ volleyball non-conference victory over Delphi Thursday night at Case Arena. FHS won by scores of 25-13, 25-8 and 25-19. Chloe Roberts led the Hot Dogs with nine kills. Kimee Kingma and Ashley Timmons added eight kills each. Avery Drew led the defense with 17 digs and five aces.

Two nights earlier, Frankfort defeated North Montgomery 3-1 in its conference opener. Timmons led FHS with 15 kills and 19 digs, Kingma added 13 kills and Isgrigg finished with 47 assists. Emily Michael added eight kills. Drew led the defense with 33 digs, Roberts added 20 digs.

On August 18, Frankfort finished fourth by going 2-2 in the Kokomo Invitational. FHS had wins over Maconaquah and Indianapolis Lighthouse and dropped contests to Kokomo and Warsaw.

Football

All three Clinton County football teams were shutout in Friday night football action. Logansport blanked Frankfort 48-0, Sheridan shutout Clinton Central 27-0, and Attica blanked Clinton Prairie 31-0. The loss dropped Clinton Central to 1-1 overall, while both Frankfort and Clinton Prairie fell to 0-2.

Boys’ Soccer

Roger Angeles had three goals to lead Frankfort to a 5-0 Sagamore Conference victory over North Montgomery Thursday night. Manual Garcia and Edgar Garcia-Hernandez each added a goal for FHS, now 2-0 in conference play.

On August 18, Frankfort took the title in the Hot Dog Invitational by defeating Crawfordsville 6-2 in the title matchup. Angeles had three goals, while Cristian Mejia, Ezequiel Guijosa and Yobani Alani each added a goal.

Frankfort reached the title game with a 4-3 victory over Delphi in the tourney opener.

Girls’ Soccer

Frankfort won its home opener by blanking Crawfordsville 4-0 Wednesday night. Sophomore goalie Jessie Ramos earned her first career shutout. Liz Sandoval had two goals for FHS, while Maria Alanis and Meli Alanis each added a goal. FHS is 1-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Girls’ Golf

Frankfort dropped a tight dual match to West Lafayette 188 to 190 Wednesday at Purdue’s Ackerman Allen Course. Sydney Cesare earned his third medalist honor of the year with a 43. Katy Benefiel was next with 46.

The day before, Frankfort improved its conference mark to 3-0 by defeating Western Boone and Southmont. Cesare led the way with a 43.

Cross Country

Frankfort finished fifth in both the boys’ and girls’ events at the Harrison 9-Way Meet Tuesday night. Hugo Hernandez led the boys with a sixth-place finish in a personal-best time of 17:27. In the girls’ race, Carina Alanis led the way with a 17th-place finish in a personal-best time of 22:21.
