The Frankfort Eagles Lodge #976 has announced that beginning today, Jan. 20 at 12 p.m. through tomorrow evening or as long as needed, the members will open the facility to those in need.
“Folks, this isn’t just for the homeless, but for those that maybe their furnace isn’t keeping up or anything of that nature,” the lodge released.
The lodge stated that it will establish a place to gather with others, do puzzles, play games or cards, watch television and be warm. The lodge stated that the members will treat those at the facility to soups and chili to keep them fed.
“We understand the trying times some go through, and this is a no questions asked thing,” the lodge released. “We just ask that you be mindful while inside the building.”
Community members are also encouraged to volunteer to help during the opening of the facility if they have the ability and opportunity.
