Frankfort Education Foundation Award $51,000 In Scholarships For Senior Honors Night

The Frankfort Education Foundation announced that just over $50,000 of scholarships were awarded to Frankfort High School seniors during Senior Honors Night on Friday.

The Frankfort Education Foundation stated that a total of $51,000 was awarded to 37 different Hot Dogs during the Senior Honors Night through 48 varying scholarships.

Scholarships awarded included:

  • Stacy Baugh Legacy Memorial Scholarship
    • $4,000 to one student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who is pursuing a career in the field of Science or in Science Education.
  • Blue Ridge Rocket Scholarship Fund
    • $150 to two students who attended Blue Ridge Primary School and are pursuing a career in education with a minimum GPA required of 3.0.
  • Keith & Mildred Otterman Scholarship Trust
    • Amount ranges from $500 to $5,000 and will be distributed among several recipients based on economic need and scholastic achievement.
  • Albert Rice Scholarship Trust
    • $2,000 for a student with a minimum GPA of 2.6 who will attend a public university in the state of Indiana, and economic need is a factor in the decision-making.
  • Abigail Pierce-Commitment to Learning & Serving Memorial Scholarship Fund
    • $1,000 to a student involved in the community, school or athletics with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Robert K. Ryan Scholarship Fund
    • $400 and open to anyone.
  • Fisher-Morrison Scholarship
    • $5,000 to a student pursuing a career in Law, Engineering or Education.
  • Mark Genda Education Scholarship
    • $1,000 to any student pursuing a teaching career.
  • Señor Binch Memorial Scholarship Fund
    • $500 to any student who has taken Spanish classes, at least through Spanish 3, at FHS who is pursuing a 2-year technical degree or 4-year Bachelors in any field. Community involvement is also a major consideration.
  • Habitat for Humanity Scholarship Fund
    • $500 to any student with community involvement during high school.
  • ANDY Scholarship (Advocation for New Discoveries in You)
    • $500 to help a Frankfort student in 7-11th grade extend his or her learning opportunities in a specific academic or arts area or career interest.

“To the entire Class of 2024, a heartfelt ‘Well Done!,'” the foundation released. “We are incredibly proud of your perseverance and resilience. Go out there and achieve great things.”
