Frankfort Education Foundation Launches ‘Michael Cesare Scholarship Fund’

The Frankfort Education Foundation recently announced a new scholarship fund created in honor of Mike Cesare, a retired Frankfort Police Department officer and teacher at the Community Schools of Frankfort, who recently passed away.

The Frankfort Education Foundation stated that the establishment of the fund will help maintain Cesare’s legacy in the Frankfort community and the Community Schools of Frankfort. The Foundation released a statement regarding the creation of the fund, stating that Cesare had made an immense impact in the community and deserves to be continually honored for his service to the Frankfort community.

“It is with heavy hearts that we grieve the passing of our dear friend, Mike Cesare,” the Foundation released. “Mike was a cherished member of our community, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. In honor of Mike’s memory, we are honored to share the establishment of the Michael Cesare Scholarship Fund at the Frankfort Education Foundation.”

Community members may contribute to the fund by donating online at frankforteducationfoundation.org/givenow, by sending a check to the Frankfort Education Foundation at 2400 E. Wabash St., Frankfort, IN 46041, by using Venmo at @FEFHotdogs or by visiting Goodwin Funeral Home, which will have envelopes available for donations in the near future.

“This fund will stand as a legacy of Mike’s impact on our community and Frankfort Schools, and his commitment to bettering the lives of all those around him,” the Foundation released. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Becky, Camden, Sydney and the entire Cesare family during this difficult time.”

For funeral services in honor of Cesare, visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21 at Goodwin Funeral Home at 200 S. Main St. in Frankfort. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 600 St. Mary’s Ave. in Frankfort with Fr. Stephen Duquane officiating.
