Frankfort Ends Regular Season With Victory Over Delphi

Riley Goodnight scored 16 points to lead Frankfort to a 55-43 non-conference victory over Delphi Friday night at Case Arena in the final regular season boys basketball contest.

The victory evened the Hot Dogs’ record at 10-10 heading into Tuesday night’s sectional opener against Tri-West at Case Arena.

Trailing 15-12 after a quarter, the Hot Dogs limited the Oracles to just four points in the second period for a 25-19 halftime lead. After Delphi trimmed the deficit to 35-31 after three, Frankfort put 20 points on the board in the fourth quarter for the victory.

The JV finished at 12-7 following a 52-23 victory over Delphi. Kye Kirby led the team with 12 points. Quentcy Perry added 10.

On February 23, Braden Smith had a game-high 37 points as Westfield used a strong second half to defeat Frankfort 80-55.

Leading 36-35 at intermission, the Shamrocks outscored the Hot Dogs 44-20 in the second half.

Goodnight led FHS with 23 points on 9 for 13 shooting. Deacon Spencer had 10 points and Jade Ayers added nine.

The JV were also beaten by Westfield 51-29. Kirby led FHS with 11 points.

Clinton Central Tops Elwood

Logan Whiteman led three players in double figures with 16 points as Clinton Central defeated Elwood 60-36 in non-conference action February 23 in Elwood.

Koda Allen had 13 points for the Bulldogs and Kyle Pickard added 12 points and nine rebounds. Luke Davison and Jake Shoup each had seven rebounds.

Central Middle School Wrestling

The Clinton Central Middle School wrestling team finished fifth in the Hoosier Heartland Conference Tournament Saturday.

Central had two winners in the event — Levi Jacobs at 90 and Nate Byers at 132. Caleb Belcher at 120 and Dwayne Harvey at 152 each finished second, while Kaleb Jacobs at 95, Caleb Griffy at 106 and Blaine Gill at 113 all wound up third.

Tri-Central won the meet with 219 points followed by Eastern at 199, Carroll 182, Rossville 171, Clinton Central 114, Delphi 103, Sheridan 72 and Taylor 37.
