Frankfort Farmers & Artisan Market Kicks Off Outdoor Season Every Saturday Starting May 4

The Frankfort Farmers and Artisan Market will kick off its summer season on May 4 with markets running every Saturday through June, taking a break in July, then beginning again from August through September.

While the market operated outdoors during the April 6 rendition in celebration of the solar eclipse on April 8, the first “official” kickoff market for the summer series is slated for this Saturday, May 4 at Veterans Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The market will feature new vendors alongside the regular vendors that the public has come to know in the Frankfort community. Music will be performed by Troy Chester, and food will be available from Big Country BBQ.

Community members have been encouraged to attend for the opportunity to purchase unique and customized gifts for Mother’s Day or start shopping early for Christmas presents.

The May 4 market kicks off the summer series of the market, where every Saturday will host a market at Veterans Park from May through June. The market will not take place for the month of July, but vendors will return to Veterans Park every Saturday from August through September.

Once the summer series concludes, the market will plan to move indoors once again on the first Saturday of the month.

Organizer MaryLynn Peter has also requested local musicians to reach out to her on Facebook to possibly appear as the musical entertainment for the market. Initially, May 4 and Aug. 31 have been claimed by musicians, but other dates may be available.

Earlier in April, Peter also announced that beginning this summer, the market will expand and include vendors that offer new items that cannot be found in retail stores, and local organizations may make appearances to set up an informational booth for the cause they are representing to continue their outreach with the community.

Peter stated that while the market continues to expand, the market will not act as a flea market, and the vendor spots will continue to remain as a free opportunity for vendors to expand their clientele.
