Bragging rights belong to the Frankfort Fire Department after firefighters narrowly defeated the Frankfort Police Department in this year’s Battle of the Badges basketball game.
The annual event took place Sunday, July 19, at Case Arena, where firefighters and police officers traded their emergency uniforms for basketball jerseys in a friendly competition that brought the community together.
The game remained close from start to finish, with the Frankfort Fire Department holding off a late push by the police department to secure a 58-56 victory.
Following the game, the Frankfort Fire Department thanked everyone who attended and congratulated both teams on a competitive matchup.
“Always a great time watching our public safety personnel battle it out in the Battle of the Badges,” the department said in a social media post. “Great game to both the police and fire department. You all played great.”
