Frankfort Fire Department Responds To Smoke Reports At Local Burger King Earlier Today

Frankfort Fire Department officials were dispatched to the Frankfort Burger King at 2201 E. Wabash St. in Frankfort early this afternoon for reports of a fire that was eventually deemed as “no immediate threat.”

According to reports, the firefighters were dispatched for a report that the Burger King building was filled with smoke. State Road 28 eastbound was closed to one lane for firefighter access to the Burger King dispatch call.

Around 2:45 p.m. on March 18, the department determined that no specific issue or immediate threat was found and the situation was given the all clear.

According to reports from community members, all staff members at the restaurant were unharmed and the heat within the dining area may have been the cause of the smoke when turned on.
