Frankfort Fire Responds to Structure Fire Sunday Morning

Frankfort Fire Department units were dispatched at approximately 5:24 a.m. Sunday morning to a possible structure fire at 954 West Barner Street. When units arrived smoke and flames were visible from the front porch and picture window. Firefighters immediately began fire suppression activities. Initial dispatch stated this was an abandoned residence possibly occupied.

Firefighters made entry and there were no occupants in the structure. Battalion 1 immediately called for second alarm and six firefighters were called into man the city while all other FFD units were on the scene of the fire.

Firefighters had the fire under control quick and three firefighter sustained minor burns injuries to hands and shoulder.

The fire is under investigation by the Frankfort Fire Department and more information will be released once that is complete.
