Ella McAtee scored 17 points to help lead the Frankfort High School girls’ basketball team to a 43-31 victory over Crawfordsville in a Sagamore Conference clash Friday night in Crawfordsville.
The win gave the Lady Hot Dogs a 2-21 record heading into Tuesday night’s sectional opener against West Lafayette at 7 p.m.
FHS jumped out to a 13-7 lead after one quarter. The margin stayed virtually the same through the next two quarters as Crawfordsville outscored the Lady Hot Dogs 16-15 to keep Frankfort’s lead at five entering the fourth quarter.
The fourth quarter saw Frankfort outscore Crawfordsville 15-8 and build its lead to 18 at one stage.
Saira Flores added 10 points for Frankfort and Vannessa Guardado added nine. Flores led the team with eight rebounds and Guardado added seven caroms. Flores and Guardado each had four steals and Ashley Vasquez-Rivera had a team-high four assists, Vasquez-Rivera led the team with 11 deflections.
Rossville Boys Take Down Eastern
Brayden Thiele-Hahn led four players in double figures with 18 points as Rossville defeated Eastern 59-53 Friday night in Rossville.
Charlie Thompson had 12 points for the Hornets, Jordan Skiles added 11 and Mathew Ford chipped in 10. Caden Wilson added seven points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Rossville starters scored all but one of its teams’ points.
