Frankfort DECA released the following information to Clinton County Daily News.
We would like to invite you to become a 2021-2022 donor of Frankfort High School DECA’s Backpack Buddies community service project. We never imagined our community service project would still be going strong into its 11th year! Without community support, we would not be able to accomplish the project mission: Provide easy-to-make, nutritious snacks to Frankfort students in the hope of alleviating child hunger.
Since August 2011, DECA Backpack Buddies has raised $130,606.38 through financial and product donations. To date, 42,697 weekend Buddy Bags have been distributed to 1,399 Frankfort students. The success of the community service project is the result of all of the individuals, churches, grants, and businesses who donate resources each year.
This year, Frankfort DECA Backpack Buddies has committed to feeding 130 Frankfort K-12 students for 34 weeks. Due to an increase in food costs, our members have increased the dollar amount budgeted per Buddy Bag to $3.25. In order to accomplish this goal, Frankfort DECA must raise $14,365 in financial and product donations.
Whereas we are grateful for any donated amount, we invite you to consider donating the following:
By donating $111, you will feed 1 student for 34 weeks
By donating $423, you will feed 130 students for 1 week
