The Hot Dogs varsity baseball team has kicked off its season with two wins over West Lafayette to start the season 2 to 0.
The Hot Dogs faced off against West Lafayette on Saturday and claimed victory with scores of 13 to 7 and 8 to 7 in the two games.
During the first game, Oscar Lopez was noted as the player who secured the victory in the first game, and Carlos Lopez was recognized as earning the save with a dominating pitching performance in relief.
In the second game, Lucas Waggoner was noted as securing the victory defensively with two strong innings in relief. Matthew Berry received the recognition of winning the game offensively by driving in the winning run for the walk-off win in the bottom of the ninth.
