Frankfort Hot Dogs Spring Sports Teams Off To A Strong Start

The Frankfort Hot Dogs spring sports teams have begun their seasons with victories and close calls in boys’ golf, track and field and baseball.

The boys’ golf team traveled to Cool Lake on Monday evening to compete against the Western Boone Stars in a showdown that saw the Hot Dogs secure a team score of 167 compared to the Stars’ score of 199.

Leading the Hot Dogs during the matchup with 40’s were Jackson Ray and Charlie Beardsley, followed closely by Luke Beardsley with 43 and Harrison Kiger with 44. Dylan Garrison shot 48, Xavier McIntosh scored 42 and Treye Seward carded 62.

Birdies were secured by Charlie Beardsley, Luke Beardsley and Jackson Ray during the showdown. The team will travel to Monticello on Saturday morning to take on the Twin Lakes invitational.

The boys’ and girls’ track and field teams participated in two meets on Friday and Tuesday where they faced off against Harrison and Faith Christian on Friday and North Montgomery on Tuesday.

Chris Rascon, Saira Flores and Jordyn Garcia led the throws while Jacelyn Ramirez Serrato, Ethan Hudspith and Owen Hudspith led the jumpers. Jaydon Davis and Stephen Colby led the sprinter with a first and third place finish in the 100 meter race. Chris Angeles cruised to a win in the 1600 meter race while Leo Roa and Jonathan Bautista finished first and second in the 3200 meter race.

The boys’ and girls’ 4×800 relay both secured a win on Tuesday, and Lexi Reed Gill won long jump while Kalli Goodnight won the 100 meter hurdles.

The Frankfort Hot Dogs baseball team dropped game one to the Lebanon Tigers, dropping to a record of 4-1 with a loss of 3-2 at Lebanon. Carlos Lopez led the offense with a hit, 2 runs and outstanding base running and Alex Lopez kicked off the game strong with a solid outing. The Hot Dogs play the second game against the Tigers tonight, April 10 in Frankfort.
