Frankfort Library Announces 2019 Jack O’Neill Award Winner

The Clinton County Family Literacy Program proudly announces Jane Stewart Holden as the 2019 recipient of the Jack R. O’Neill Award for “Outstanding Service to the Family Literacy  Program.”

Jane became a volunteer for the Family Literacy Program in August of 2018. Her love for literacy and her dedication to help others have made a difference in the lives of the students she teaches. At the time Jane became a volunteer she was recently retired from The Community Schools of Frankfort as the School Library Media Specialist. She has been surrounded by books all her life. Her love and energy for reading are contagious and so greatly   needed in our program. For almost 2 years Jane has spent countless hours and has done an amazing job as an adult student’s tutor, children’s tutor, elementary school reader, and pre-school reader. There are not enough words to describe Janes’ enthusiasm as a literacy advocate for her students and our program.

On behalf of the Literacy Steering Committee, the Frankfort Community Public Library, and the Literacy Program Coordinator, thank you, Jane, for your hard work, your dedication, and your inspiration!

The Jack R. O’Neill Award was established in 1999 by the Literacy Committee to honor the memory of the late Judge Jack O’Neill, who served on the Literacy Committee as President and member in the 1980s and 1990s.
