Frankfort High School announced Andrew Dudley as the new head football coach during a board meeting Tuesday night.
“Frankfort High School is proud to welcome Andrew Dudley as our new Head Football Coach,” the Athletic Department posted. “He is ready to lead our Hot Dogs and build strong, positive relationships with our student-athletes.”
New athletic Director Jeff Irwin has his man as he hires from within the department.
Dudley has served as the Frankfort baseball coach for several years and has been involved with Frankfort Athletics for 25 years. The program has had success under Dudley’s leadership, winning four Sectional Championships and a Regional Championship in 2023.
The move comes after former head coach Justin Kinzie resigned after one season.
The football program at Frankfort has struggled to find any success in recent years. Over the last five seasons, the Hot Dogs are a combined 4-45, including two 0-10 seasons.
The last Sectional Championship for Frankfort came in 2006. The last time Frankfort won a Sectional game was in 2013.
The road to success will be a tough one. Frankfort competes in Class 4A, and the Hot Dogs wrapped up their first season in the new Monon Athletic Conference. The MAC featured two Sectional champions and a regional champion in Cascade.
Not only will Dudley be tasked with bringing the high school program back to what it once was, but also continue to rebuild the youth programs.
Dudley will remain the coach of the Baseball team for the 2025 season, and potentially beyond.
