Frankfort Names Justin Kinzie As New Head Football Coach

Frankfort High School named Justin Kinzie the new head football coach during a board meeting Tuesday night.

Kinzie served the last three seasons as head coach for Brandywine High School in Niles, Mich. Following the 2024 season, the school and Kinzie decided to mutually part ways.

Before his stint at Brandywine, Kinzie served as the interim head coach at South Bend Riley from 2020-2021.

Kinzie served as an assistant for multiple schools in the South Bend area before stepping into a head coaching role.

“I am excited to be here,” Kinzie said during the meeting. “I know first-hand how important this position is. I know what it means to represent a community and have the title of head football coach. I want everyone in the community to know that won’t be lost on me. I am ready to come with two feet on the ground ready to work.”

Kinzie plans to teach social studies at Frankfort and is joined by his wife, Allison, and two sons Broderick and Mason.

He takes over a program coming off of an 0-10 season, looking for their first sectional win since 2013, and first sectional championship since 2006.

Kinzie will lead the Hot Dogs for their first season in the new Monon Athletic Conference. The new conference includes Cascade, Crawfordsville, Frankfort, Greencastle, North Montgomery, North Putnam, Southmont and Western Boone.
