Frankfort Parks Department, Frito-Lay Partner on ‘Better Together’ Community Service Campaign

As part of Frito-Lay hosting Purdue University, Ohio State and University of Illinois college students for their summer intern program, Frito-Lay and the Parks Department are participating in a Better Togethercommunity service campaign.
According to Parks Superintendent Travis Sheets, the interns will be working hand-in-hand with the Parks’ team.
“We are excited to have the involvement of these great students as they help us rebuild the TPA Park Aviary and coordinate several Better Together work days for Frito-Lay employees and their families to help us improve our park as part of this fun summer intern program,” Sheets said.
Pepsico Organizational Capability Manager Mark Sheets is spearheading the campaign from Frito-Lay’s side.
“These students typically come from much larger communities across the nation than Frankfort. Each year we implement our summer intern program, the students always are impressed by how nice our parks and schools are and by how friendly and welcoming our community members are toward them,” Sheets said.
“As a lifelong resident of this great community, I love showing off the parks, schools and people of this town.  We’re blessed to have such wonderful facilities and fantastic people and I think we sometimes forget just how fortunate we really are.”
