Victim Identified From Monday Crash on State Road 28

At approximately 5:28 a.m. Monday, Frankfort Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 1900 Block W. State Road 28.  Upon arriving, Officers found 40-year-old Douglas Adams, deceased, in the westbound lanes of travel.

Officers contacted a reconstruction team from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Preliminary crash reports indicate Adams attempted to cross State Road 28 and was struck by a westbound vehicle. He was walking to work in the predawn hour and attempted to cross traffic. The driver did not see him.

“Based on our investigation, this appears to be a tragic accident,” said Detective Thomas Dillingham.  “Toxicology was taken as standard practice and it is pending.”

Speed and weather were not a factor.
