The Frankfort Police Department has received multiple reports of counterfeit currency. However, several of these incidents are not being reported.
If you receive a suspicious bill, contact the police. The “marker test” might still show the bill is real. Use other security features such as micro printing and strips before accepting. The ink should not smear on a real bill when water is applied.
Use your instincts. If it doesn’t feel right, call the police.
