Frankfort Narcotics Detectives made six drug arrests yesterday afternoon following the execution of a search warrant in the 400 block of West Washington Street.
Arrested were Dakota W. Sheets (26) of Frankfort for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Common Nuisance; Jesse A. Pitman (30) of Frankfort for Possession of Heroin and Visiting a Common Nuisance; April R. Ponton (34) of Flora for Visiting a Common Nuisance; Angel M. Peterson (22) of Michigantown for Possession of a Syringe and Visiting a Common Nuisance; Jonathan B. Shelley (30) of Clarks Hill for Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Syringe and Visiting a Common Nuisance; and Jennifer M. Eason (29) of Frankfort for Possession of a Syringe and Visiting a Common Nuisance.
According to Police Chief Troy Bacon, Narcotics Detectives received information in February of possible drug activity at an apartment building in the 400 block of W. Washington Street. Acting on the information, an investigation was initiated. These arrests are the result of that focused investigation.
“Assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and the Rossville Police Department, Frankfort Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at the apartment and located methamphetamine, heroin, syringes and a firearm.” Bacon said.
Those arrested were transported to the Clinton County Jail where they await formal charges.
On Saturday, a routine traffic stop resulted in one man being arrested on drug charges.
According to Police Chief Troy Bacon, officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic infraction near 13000 County Road 800 West in Clinton County. During the traffic stop, K9 Otto conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle exterior and detected the presence of illegal drugs inside.
Officers obtained a search warrant from Clinton Circuit Court to conducted a more detailed and thorough search. The driver, 57-year-old David H. Highley from Frankfort, was found to be in possession of 1/3 pound methamphetamine.
Highley was arrested and transported to the Clinton County Jail for Dealing Methamphetamine (Level 2 Felony) where he awaits formal charges.
