Frankfort Police Participating in No Shave November

Frankfort Police officers are forgoing their razors this month in favor of facial hair and contributing to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

According to Chief Troy Bacon, “A key part of the national No Shave November campaign is bringing awareness to cancer. Our annual participation in No Shave November has provided a way for officers to raise funds for deserving organizations. This year we will be raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital”.

“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a world leader in childhood cancer research and treatment. They help thousands of children and families each year by providing treatment, housing, and meals. The FPD is proud to be supporting St. Jude this year.” Bacon explained.

Officers participating in this year’s No Shave November campaign have been approved to grow a full beard that must be groomed and properly maintained throughout the month.  Participating officers will each make a $20 contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital.  In an effort to raise even more funds for St Jude, the Chief has authorized those officers who donate a minimum of $40 to keep their beards until December 31st.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital depends on the generosity of donors. Anyone interested in making a contribution is encouraged to visit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital website at https://www.stjude.org/
