Frankfort Police Respond To Reported Stabbing Friday Afternoon

An altercation regarding allegations of owed money resulted in a reported stabbing Friday afternoon in Frankfort.

On Friday, Nov. 15 just before 4 p.m., Frankfort Police were reportedly dispatched to the 7700 Block of West State Road 28 for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, an officer reportedly held the suspect at gunpoint until additional officers arrived from the department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police.

The suspect was identified as Gurmeet Singh, 36, of California, who was arrested with a requested charge of battery with a deadly weapon. Singh was taken into custody.

Officers reported that the victim sustained a minor defensive wound on their hand and medical treatment was conducted on scene.

According to reports, the suspect and the victim reportedly were known to each other, and the altercation is believed to have stemmed from a civil matter pertaining to allegations of owed money between an owner and driver of a semi tractor trailer.

No further information has been released at this time.
