Frankfort Police officers are forgoing their razors in November in favor of facial hair and making a $20 contribution to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
According to Chief Troy Bacon, “This is the second year that we have chosen to fundraise for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Our annual participation in the No Shave November campaign provides officers the opportunity to raise money for a deserving organization while having fun and growing a beard”.
“St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a world leader in childhood cancer research and treatment. They help thousands of children and families each year by providing treatment, housing, and meals. The FPD is proud to be supporting St. Jude again this year.” Bacon explained.
Officers participating in this year’s No Shave November campaign have been approved to grow a full beard that must be groomed and properly maintained throughout the month. Participating officers will each make a $20 contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital. In an effort to raise even more funds for St Jude, the Chief has authorized those officers who donate a minimum of $40 to keep their beards until December 31.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital depends on the generosity of donors. The Frankfort Police Department is encouraging anyone in the community who would like to join us in participating in No Shave November or is interested in making a contribution to visit the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital website at https://www.stjude.org/ . Donations are also being accepted at the Frankfort Police Department, located at 201 W Washington Street, throughout the month of November.
