Community members are invited to join Frankfort police officers for the Third Annual National Coffee with a Cop Day at McDonalds Restaurant at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3 for informal conversations to build relationships, discuss public safety and enjoy a hot cup of coffee together.
According to Police Chief Troy Bacon, “Coffee with a Cop is a unique opportunity for residents to ask questions and learn more about the Department, get to know your local police officers, and to share a hot cup of coffee. This event reflects our belief that interacting with the community builds trust, strengthens relationships and bridges the gap between the community and police”.
A national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services, Coffee with a Copaims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
