To ensure efficient collection, residents are asked to follow these guidelines:
Place leaf piles as close to the curb, but not in the roadway or near storm drains
Please separate sticks & limbs from the leaf piles. Limbs and sticks will damage the leaf machines.
Avoid parking vehicles near leaf piles
Keep leaf piles away from utility poles
Due to the late fall of the leaves this year, our season has started later than usual. I am planning to have a few crews work some Saturdays so that we can stay on top of the piles of leaves. We appreciate the community’s cooperation in making the leaf collection as efficient as possible,” stated Brian Killman. “By following these guidelines, we can minimize disruptions and make sure our crews can collect your leaves promptly.”
City of Frankfort residents can also bring yard waste, grass clippings, leaves, limbs, etc., directly to the Frankfort Street Department‘s compost site located at 905 Burlington Avenue. The site is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Leaves and clippings must be removed from the bags before being added to the compost pile.
