The Community Schools of Frankfort School Board unanimously approved a new contract with the Frankfort Education Association (FEA), which is the school’s group of teachers, on Tuesday night.
“This new climate of teacher salaries, we have to look and see if we have the dollars. We did,” said Assistant Superintendent Joel McKinney. “We were able to bargain enough dollars to not only move all of our teachers up which is about a 2.5 percent increase, but we were also able to add an additional stipend called a ratification stipend.”
McKinney added this is a one-year contract and the two sides will have to get together next fall and ratify a new deal.
