Frankfort Volleyball Captures Sagamore Conference Opener

The Frankfort High School girlss’ volleyball team opened the Sagamore Conference season with a victory over North Montgomery Tuesday night at Case Arena.

Head coach Kia Rushton said the team had a turn-around serving performance with 13 aces at 95 percent as a team and tonight was a great team effort and performance. Chloe Roberts had 4 aces, 9 digs, and 6 kills, while Ashley Timmons had 14 kills, hitting .452 for the night. Allyson Timmons returned to the court with 5 kills and 2 blocks, while fellow junior Lindsey Gay had 19 assists and 5 aces. Tarah Martinez led the defense with 12 digs and also added 4 aces. Kylie Norman had 3 digs and 3 aces, while Morgan Adamson had a strong night offensively with 6 kills hitting .417 on the night. Maicee Sterrett added four digs for the team, and Bella Colby had several touches at the net and added two kills for the team. Sydni Whitaker came in and served 3/3 for the team and picked up two digs, and Grace Campbell added an ace and two digs.

Next up for FHS is a non-conference matchup at Delphi Thursday night.

The junior varsity was also victorious by scores 25-17, 25-22. Emma Pillion had 11 assists, while Sydni Whitaker, Eryka Stephenson, and Emily Hurless each had three kills. Sydni also led in digs with 5. Grace Campbell had 3 aces and Ericka Pillion added 2 aces. Kylie Field added 2 aces, 2 kills, and 3 digs, and Jazzy Oppelt had 2 digs.

Clinton Prairie Downs Faith Christian

Sydney Swan had a team-high 9 kills and 13 digs to help lead Clinton Prairie to a 18-25, 19-25, 25-8, 25-20, 15-11 victory over Faith Christian Tuesday night in Lafayette. Hannah Wilson added a team-high 13 assists and 12 digs for Prairie, 2-1. Keyra Fisher had nine digs while Kylee Maish had seven digs and six kills.

Prairie also won the junior varsity contest 25-12, 25-8 to improve their record to 2-1. Grace Good led the Gophers with eight aces, three kills and three digs. Maya Rominger added three digs, three kills and and three aces. Kaylee Wall added four assists, four aces and two digs.

FHS Cross Country Teams Compete at Harrison 8-Way

The Frankfort boys’ cross country team finished fourth, while the FHS girls also placed fourth in a meet at the Tippecanoe Amphitheater.

Boys’ Results: Harrison 23, West Lafayette 36, Lafayette Jefferson 93, Frankfort 93, Benton Central 129, Southmont 185.

Individual Winner — Caleb Williams (Harrisoon) 16:21.

FHS Boys’ Soccer Fall to Harrison

Frankfort saw its record drop to 2-2 following a 6-1 loss to Harrison Tuesday night in West Lafayette. The lone goal for the Hot Dogs came from senior Chris Hernandez with the assist coming from senior Brian Chavez. Frankfort’s next opponent is at home against North Montgomery 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The junior varsity fell to Harrison 3-0.
