Fred A. Hemmerling, 67, of Frankfort, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. He was born January 12, 1954 in Frankfort, to Bill and Gene (Herr) Hemmerling. He married Jackie Miller in Morenci, Arizona on June 30, 1995; she survives.
Fred worked for Morenci Mine in Arizona before moving back to Indiana where he worked at Fairfield Manufacturing in Lafayette. His interests included woodworking and he loved spending time in his workshop. He was a great husband, and an amazing dad, uncle, brother, and grandpa who cherished spending time with his family. His passing is undeniably a great loss to all who knew him.
Surviving along with the love of his life, Jackie, are his sons, Fred Hemmerling Jr. (wife, Cindee), Shawn Johnston (wife, Rhonda), and Robert Short (wife, Brandi); daughter-in-law, Amanda Hemmerling; brothers, Terry Hemmerling (wife, Judy) of Thorntown and Tim Hemmerling (wife, Gracie) of Safford, Arizona; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Bill Hemmerling; and sister, Linda Thompson of Tucson, Arizona.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
