French Lick Resort Details $17M Expansion

Inside INdiana Business is reporting that French Lick Resort has announced plans for a $17 million expansion project. The Orange County venue says construction has already begun on a six-story guestroom addition and new sports bar, which is expected to be complete in the fall of 2019.

The project will add 56 guestrooms to French Lick, bringing the total number of rooms to 742 between the resort’s two hotels. Both parts of the project, which will total more than 54,000 square feet, are being built near French Lick Casino.

“Both the new guestrooms and sports bar will be great additions to an area of the resort that has seen some incredible growth in recent years,” said Adina Cloud, the resort’s director of sales. “Our volume of Event Center business increases every year. Now, those guests will be able to access these new venues easily since both will be a short walk from the Event Center. These are also two products that will give our guests more choices as they complement our existing line of guestrooms and restaurants.”

The resort says the new rooms and sports bar will also create more than 100 jobs.

Jasper-based Krempp Construction Inc. has been contracted for the project. The announcement comes as French Lick Resort is undergoing a $5 million renovation to its Exhibition Hall and former Billiard and Bowling Pavilion. The resort also completed a $20 million expansion project in 2015.
