Fresh Taste Kokomo Highlights Local Food and Drinks

The Kokomo Downtown Farmers’ Market is cooking up something fresh to celebrate community and local food. There are so many delicious places to dine rooted right here in Kokomo, and the KDFM is excited to highlight the skill and creativity of our local chefs and locally-grown food because we believe that investment in local food and agriculture benefits our community and economy.

On the evening of September 15, the Kokomo Downtown Farmers’ Market will bring you a truly unique culinary experience as local chefs use their culinary wizardry to create delicious dishes highlighting the produce and products of the farmers’ market. Sample fresh market pizza from Oscar’s Pizza, Spanish gazpacho from Main Street Café, sweet corn puffs from Sheri’s Edible Art and so much more. Vegan and vegetarian tastes are included. Hearty tastes of sweet and savory delights, live music by local band Bel and the Bad Wolves, wine tasting from Blackhawk Winery, beer tasting from Tin Man Brewery and a tasty line up of libations from The Coterie round out the list of reasons YOU should attend. Special guest Candace Boyd Wylie, foodie, food activist, and blogger, will demonstrate how to create a fresh seasonal chili with ingredients from the farmers’ market. Tasting is encouraged!

Check out Kokomo’s current and up-and-coming chefs in what is slated to become Kokomo’s premier foodie event from 5pm-8pm at Foster Park. Advance tickets, which cover all food, wine, and beer samples are $15 at the farmers’ market and on Eventbrite.com. Tickets are $20 at the door. This is a 21+ event.
