Indiana’s smallest independent telephone company announced its vision to expand its horizons with the hiring of a new broadband and telecommunications field technician.
Geetingsville Telephone Company, located in the northern part of Clinton County, has served the community of Clinton County since 1901 and stands as one of only a few independent telecommunication companies still operating in Indiana. In 1991, Geetingsville sought to expand its services by installing its first digital fiber-optic system to replace the outdated electronic switches and bring the company into modern times.
In 1997, Geetingsville began offering internet service, known as Geetel, to communities of Clinton County, and the company now serves approximately 175 landline telephones and 1,000 internet customers.
In 2012, Geetingsville began installing fiber-optic service to residents in Rossville, which further expanded in 2022 by building an ILEC exchange with fiber to home. Geetingsville is looking toward the future as the team anticipates further expansion to surrounding communities.
“We pride ourselves on the quality technical service we provide our customers; but our strength lies in our customer service,” the team released. “We continued our fiber expansion over the last year to include communities in Kilmore, Lake Ridge, Little Lakes and soon to be Moran.”
The company announced that in anticipation of the expansion, the team is seeking to add to the small employee base by hiring a field technician team member.
