Governor Holcomb Announces New COVID-19 Guidelines

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb is directing all restaurants and bars to close amid the growing coronavirus spread. He made the announcement during a news conference Monday afternoon.

According to a memo, bars, restaurants and nightclubs will close to in-person customers, but may still provide take-out and delivery services through the end of March. He did not give an exact time frame, but said businesses should “start winding down” beginning Monday night.

Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky are among the stats that have announced similar measures.

Five more cases of COVID-19 were reported by the Indiana Department of Health Monday. The department reported 24 cases, up from 19 on Sunday.

The ISDH also said 139 people have been tested in the state, up from 121 Sunday. The state reported its first death Monday.
