Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort has announced its annual spring clean-up will begin March 15 and continue through April 1. The effort is part of the cemetery’s ongoing maintenance program aimed at preserving the grounds’ appearance and providing a peaceful setting for families and visitors.
“We want Green Lawn to remain a beautiful and welcoming place,” Said board member Bill Miller. “Our spring clean-up helps us prepare for the new season and maintain the dignity of the grounds.”
Families Asked to Remove Decorations by March 15
Cemetery officials are asking families to remove any decorations or personal items they wish to keep by March 15. “Any items left on gravesites after that date will be removed and discarded,” Miller said. “We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to keep the cemetery well maintained.”

The annual Clean-Up is an effort to maintain the cemetery’s beauty, making it a peaceful and welcoming environment for families and visitors to find comfort. Prior to this time, we kindly ask families to remove any decorations they wish to keep from gravesites by March 15th. Any items remaining, will be removed and discarded.
Beginning April 1st, families are welcome to honor their loved ones by placing spring and summer decorations at the gravesites. We appreciate your cooperation as we prepare for the new season and maintain the beauty of the cemetery.

Green Lawn staff will clear remaining decorations, trim trees and grass, and prepare the property for spring planting. “It’s an important part of our yearly cycle,” said Miller. “By early April, the grounds look fresh and ready for new floral tributes.”
New Decorations Welcome After April 1
Once the clean-up concludes, families may begin placing spring and summer decorations on graves beginning April 1. “We understand how meaningful these displays are, we simply ask that people follow the seasonal schedule so the cemetery can stay neat and safe for everyone.”
