Green Lawn Cemetery in Frankfort has announced its annual spring clean-up will begin March 15 and continue through April 1. The effort is part of the cemetery’s ongoing maintenance program aimed at preserving the grounds’ appearance and providing a peaceful setting for families and visitors.
“We want Green Lawn to remain a beautiful and welcoming place,” said board member Bill Miller. “Our spring clean-up helps us prepare for the new season and maintain the dignity of the grounds.”
Families Asked to Remove Decorations by March 15
Green Lawn Cemetery Annual Spring Clean-Up will take place between the dates of March 15th and April 1st. Prior to this time, Green Lawn Cemetery kindly asks families to remove any decorations they wish to keep from gravesites by March 15th. Any items remaining, will be removed and discarded.
Beginning April 1st, families are welcome to honor their loved ones by placing spring and summer decorations at the gravesites.
Green Lawn staff will clear remaining decorations, trim trees and grass, and prepare the property for spring planting. “It’s an important part of our yearly cycle,” said Miller. “By early April, the grounds look fresh and ready for new floral tributes.”
New Decorations Welcome After April 1
Once the clean-up concludes, families may begin placing spring and summer decorations on graves beginning April 1. Residents with questions can contact the Green Lawn Cemetery office at 765‑659‑2112 or visit the office located within the cemetery grounds.
