Harold Lee Mohler

  Harold Lee Mohler of Rossville, Indiana passed away May 19, 2023, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville. He was born November 30, 1930, to Harry and Dora(Royer) Mohler, near Flora, Indiana. He married Margaret Cripe on October 4, 1953, near Rossville. They were married more than 68 years, until her death in 2022. To this union were born four children: Keith, Janice, Karen, and Ronda.

Harold attended Carrolton Township School, then worked in a hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana to fulfill his CO work after he and Mom were married. He farmed near Mulberry, Indiana for many years, raising corn, soybeans, livestock, and tomatoes.

He was baptized with a group of ten others at Middle Fork and became a member of the Old German Baptist Church on October 14, 1951, to which he remained faithful.  On September 23, 2022, Harold asked to be anointed, from which he received much comfort.

Harold is survived by his daughters, Janice(Ohmer) Etter of Delphi, Karen(Larry) Wray of Baldwin City, KS, Ronda(Galen) Bowman of Shelby, MI; brothers, Melvin(Eva) Mohler, Marvin(Kathryn) Mohler of Zillah, WA; sister-in-law Evelyn Cripe of Rossville; 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, Harold was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Linda Mohler and an infant sister.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23 from 3-5 and 6-8 pm at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 24 at 10 am at the church with the home brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Old German Baptist cemetery.

Dad and Mom spent 30 winters in Florida, where they made many warm friendships. Recently they moved to Milner Community Health Care where they were blessed to get to know more friends and caregivers. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and community.
