Harshman was crowned as the queen for this year’s Clinton County & 4-H Fair from a field of nine contestants. She was asked what this means to her.
“It means the world. Absolutely,” said Harshman, who just graduated from Frankfort High School in May. “I’ve always idolized the queens of the county and I’ve always seen them as strong, independent women. Hopefully, I can grow into their shoes.”
Harshman decided to enter the contest after seeing it mentioned in school emails and online.
“It just looked like so much fun,” said Harshman. “I thought it would be a good way to get to know lots of girls from our county.”
The remainder of Harshman’s court at the fair will include Anna Albaugh, who was named First Runner-up and Miss Congeniality, along with Jessica Munoz, who was named Second Runner-up.
Harshman has also been a part of Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes’ Frankfort Future Leaders Advisory Council. She said that experience definitely helped her especially when it came to the public speaking portion of the contest.
Other contestants were Katie Stitsworth, Emma Wood, Olivia Waugh, Chelsie Jones, Tara Chandler and Sara Ostler.

Contestants on Saturday night participated in the Business Wear and Evening Gown presentations in addition to answering an impromptu question.
Following intermission, Laurabeth Landis, who was named Miss Clinton County in 2017, gave her farewell address.
Clinton County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Shan Sheridan was the Master of Ceremony for the event, which had a little over 100 people attend.
Harshman and her court will preside over the Clinton County & 4-H Fair which runs July 7-15.
