The Indiana Bacon Festival has announced its headlining act for this year’s festival during the premium spot of the evening as Lou Gramm, the original voice of Foreigner.
The Indiana Bacon Festival scheduled for Aug. 24 has already begun its announcements with the announcement of Gramm as the premium headliner for the festival this year. Gramm is known as the lead vocalist for Foreigner songs, such as “Feels Like the First Time,” “Cold as Ice,” Long, Long Way from Home,” “Hot Blooded,” “Double Vision,” “Blue Morning, Blue Day,” “Head Games,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Urgent,” “Juke Box Hero,” “Break It Up” and “Say You Will.”
Gramm is also known for co-writing most of the songs for the band, which included top hits such as “Waiting for a Girl Like You and “I want to Know What Love Is.” The first eight singles cracked the Billboard Top 20, which made Foreigner the first group to achieve the honor since the Beatles.
Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Director and leader of the Indiana Bacon Festival Julia Leahy expressed her excitement for Gramm attending as the premium headliner for the festival this year.
“As we look for new ways each year to enhance the festival, we felt it was important to invest in a high-end act to take the stage, bringing rock and roll back to the front and center of the Bacon Festival,” Leahy said.
This year’s theme has also been released as “Bacon for President 2024” as a nod to the upcoming general election.
Additional plans are still underway within the committee for the festival with more information being released in the near future about the Backyard Barbecue Cook-Off, an updated vendor line-up and more. Scholarships are also currently available for the event, and more information about the scholarships at IndianaBaconFestival.com, or community members may visit the Chamber or contact Leahy directly at [email protected].
Tickets will be on sale for the festival for the public at the beginning of the summer.
