Health Update On Christian Lindenmayer After Train Accident

Christian Lindenmayer was seriously injured Monday. First responders arrived to the Rossville Avenue/Train Track intersection shortly after 5:24 PM.

Clinton County Dispatch, Clinton County Sheriff’s office, Railroad Police and Norfolk and Southern Trainmaster all assisted Frankfort Police to help manage the accident scene and control lengthy and severe traffic congestion during the response time.

Christian was life lined to Indianapolis and is now in stable condition following two necessary amputations.

Chrystal Lindenmayer, Christian’s mother, says that Christian is recovering well but has lost his left leg below the knee and about half of his right foot in the accident.  According to Chrystal, there is no internal bleeding or brain damage and Christian is responding well to care providers with yes and no answers.  As of 11 AM Tuesday morning, Christian was still on a ventilator.  More surgery is scheduled for later this week.

Chrystal would like to “thank the Frankfort Police, who have been supportive” throughout the process and asks the community to “lift Christian in your prayers”.

Christian is a senior at the Crossing School in Frankfort.  Plans are underway to make his home more accessible to aid in his recovery.
