Healthy Communities Announces Red Ribbon Week Winners

Red Ribbon Week was October 23-31. Red Ribbon Week was started in 1988 in the response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena.

For the past 30 years, Red Ribbon Week is to celebrate and bring awareness to drugs and bullying. This year’s theme was “Life is Your Journey, Travel Drug Free.”

Healthy Communities of Clinton County Coalition worked with Frankfort Middle School, Clinton Prairie, Clinton Central and Rossville students by having an essay, drawing and coloring contest. We were excited to reach 2,500 students who all received giveaways such as pencils, suckers and bracelets to promote a drug-free lifestyle.

Out of all four county goals, Rossville Elementary School submitted the most Red Ribbon Week contest submissions.
